I think part of what is making Vin look older is that he’s started to gain weight from having enough food to eat.

Dude, Vinc really does look older.
Can the mounties or any of the others judge from Vin’s scent that he has some mountie in him? I know he has retractable claws like cats do, and stripes when he’s wet, but I don’t know if his scent is fully wolf.
I’m not going to discount the possibility that Vin smells like a puppycat. That is a possibility, even if Vin is only 1/4 feline. But I think that what set Alpha’s nose to twitching is that Vin smelled like his father, Rama. Although that’s not quite an answer to your question.
