  1. Wait…. Quinn being helpful! She does have a nice side after all!!! And judging from that one panel a serious side and face too…. That’s a surprise that I would have never thought I’d get to see….

Apparently she can’t pull people not related to he into the void with her or maybe the fox is too injured to be moved that way or something.

Quinn also has a good idea to locate someone nearby, after all, Quinn can find someone nearby in what 10-30 seconds tops?

    as always love the artwork!

  2. I can’t see Quinn as malicious; I really can’t. She is mischievous to a fault, but she always struck me as well-meaning in her mischief.

  3. she always wants to help, I’m sure that’s why she dragged the boys with her, She wanted them to have fun

  4. Quinn’s always been helpful. In fact, she’s usually enthusiastically helpful. Whether you want her help or not. And that doesn’t even cover how she is the “Mother of Good Intentions gone awry.”

One thing about Quinn’s teleportation is that it is line of sight teleportation. I also agree on the “too injured to move” point.

Oh, and Silver is the one recommending going for help. Quinn’s just being efficient in searching the immediate area first. It’d be kinda funny (AKA: Hilarious) if she found Chythar again.

  5. It is reasonable that if she is too injured to be moved, although Quinn get her out of the cave, should be people prepared outside with medical equipment not to have to carry she all the way back in her conditions without stabilize her… 😐

  6. Quinn always manages to find the trouble anywhere she goes. This time, its a pair or more of foxes trapped in a collapsed cave on Mounty lands.
And, yes, nearby help is always useful. If more help is needed, then it will be quicker to arrive.
And by the sound of things, more help is needed.

  7. @hariman: when was it ever implied that Quinn’s teleport is only line of sight? If that was true she wouldn’t be able to pop up on the other side of a wall to startle people or in another room or inside a cave sealed with a rock fall to find an injured fox.

Remember, she doesn’t actually teleport (thought it appears that way to others) — she’s actually moving in and out of other dimensions (and can see into the “real” world as she does so – as can her friends in the other dimensions). This is why she can partially appear if she desires, and “pass thru” walls or seem to be partially inside solid matter (Collin is the one who can actually phase thru matter).

Quinn is often far more helpful than most people can stand — it’s really a large part of who she is.

  8. It’s one of the rules of living in a sci-fi universe. The transporter system never works is when you REALLY need it.
Also, here we have a group of characters heading into a dark and scary cave. Just be glad that none of them are wearing a red shirt.

  9. I’m thinking the fox may be trapped under some of the rock — since Quinn actually *moves* in and out of another dimension to “teleport” (she doesn’t just go *poof*), she would be kinda hosed — she cannot move the rock, and she cannot move the fox (since it’s pinned down) to bring it with her thru her dimension.

Quinn is also pretty young at this point in the story — she’s only about 3 years old chronologically (though about 13 physically). There is a lot she still must learn (and probably a lot of abilities she still has to develop into).

  10. tiggertoo: I’m pretty sure it’s mentioned in the Shivaewiki, let me check…

“Quinn so rarely just flies since she doesn’t just fly, she also teleports and it’s fast. She can fly at 300 mph (as an adult, probably only 150 during Akaelae), but speed is irrelevant when she can cross as far as she can see in the blink of an eye.”

    That’s what’s mixing me up.

Quinn has pulled Collin, and possibly others, along with her when she “teleports”. She probably doesn’t want to move the injured fox. And I’m pretty sure it’s only one fox in there.

  11. I wonder if she’s a black fox? Love-interest for our little black-turned-gold Darrik? 😀

  12. Gold fox with a heart of black?

  13. Interesting, so we get to see the Quinn underneath, and I’m quite interested about this fox =)

  14. lets see how this rolls out =/
