I wonder if Filaire is a technomage, or if she’s just got access to an interesting variety of weapons. We already saw her knock Darrik out with an energy dagger. Now she’s got armor with energy shields and a staff that shoots lightning.
I don’t care if it is war. The wolves were prepared for this, they aren’t going to allow their cubs to be taken without a fight. Celina will be okay (wolf regen powers) but will the horse?
Ouchie. Is this perhaps time for the Saotome School of Indescriminate Grappling Ultimate Move (based on the tenets of Motion, Contemplation, and Opposition).
Ouch… Directed energy weapon. Not good. That arc thrower along looks like it’s pretty dang indiscriminate in the forward arc, and the fact Filaire’s also clearly sporting some form of defensive field effect makes this VERY one-sided. Someone with a force field transparent to their own attacks can just sit there protected and lash out. This is definitely NOT a good situation.
Filaire’s left arm is pulled back in the second panel. She can’t just hold the shield up and poke her staff through. She has to use some timing and skill instead. Still, it’s a nasty weapon and a major advantage.
Lilfluff: The “Fast Break”? Oh yes, very much so. Now would be the perfect time. If they weren’t still surrounded.
Aaaaaaand lightning beats water sticks (or blue metal, which would actually be cooler?). Of course. Why didn’t I see that coming? I usually can spot something like this from a mile away. Then again, it’s harder to do so when you aren’t the one who wrote it… XD Yes, that was another reference to my fanfiction.
