  1. GOOD DOG, AT-AT, GOOD BOY.

Rama only dreams he had this kind of money and resources. Either Alpha knows he is there, or the reputation of the ruins is generating some heavy-duty military caution. And by caution I mean: massive troop deployment.

    1. Alpha Knows. Or at least he suspects enough to assume that Rama is there.

Giant Puppy Mech needs a bone to chew on. He’ll just use any heavy lifts that Rama happened to appropriate!

  2. For the panel on the top right:

Mouse: I can see my house from here!

Rabbit: Uh huh, sure you can!

Their CO: Belay the chatter and get moving you lazy wastes of fur!

  3. Ok, the Akaelaes have all the coolest toys. Gliders, little dropships, giant wolf mech.

They haven’t fired a shot, I’m already enjoy this.

    1. Arguable whether those are gliders or powered wing systems, considering that the Cyantians have effective contra-gravitic tech. As for the mech, it’s interesting. Always found quad designs more logical, easier to render hull down in a firefight, etc.

  4. Hmmmmm…I wonder if that mech is one of the few slightly sentient mech like Darius pilots at the academy in the future or do those get created later?

Rather interesting to come here in such a display of force. Though like others have said, this place and Rama have a bit of history to make it justified. Alpha did say something about disappearances of Rama’s descendants if I remember right. They might expect a big fight.

    1. Darius probably gets an upgraded custom version of a Master Grade Lift.

He also probably gets the first of each generation as it comes out. Being rich, famous and in power has its benefits.

  5. Oh No.. It’s a FliederMaus.. Sorry to all you German speakers I just could not resist

    1. Now that was funny. 🙂

  6. There’s no way someone like Rama could have possibly not foreseen the possibility of being discovered and attacked. He’s probably got surprises waiting for Syrys’s men up ahead as a contingency plan. America’s forces are the most technologically advanced in the world and up there in the best trained, but even untrained militia can challenge the USA with surprise and innovation. (Battle of Takr Gar and Black Hawk Down are indicators of this.) Its not necessarily about what you have, but how you use it. The Wolf forces are also up against skilled mercenaries with at least one skilled commander that we’ve seen and a psychic. (The kidnapping wasn’t a fair test of Rama’s forces, Celina and co. were armed and Celina had a horse, the foxes were on foot and unarmed.) This fight will be a big one and let’s see what happens.

Question: Who are these guys? Alpha Akaelae’s private forces, Centralis militia forces, or the Wolf Nation’s (Whatever its called) national Army/Marines/what have you?

  7. Sorry, second question popped into my head; How would the American military fare up to these guys? America doesn’t have starships, but it has powerful tanks with near impenetrable armor, destroyers and submarines with cruise missiles, and the best trained and equipped troops on Earth at the present time. Everyone makes a big deal out of shields and energy weapons being the superior tech, but they’ve clearly never actually seen what a GAU-17/A or a A-10 Warthog is capable of doing. And shields are just armor in another form.

    1. I actually started a discussion in the forums about this. The general consensus was that both sides would find such a conflict to be a bloody mess, the Americans being trained in warfare and knowing what it demands, the Cyantians having more advanced technology but not really knowing how to apply it to warfare.

      1. I think you’ll find that in warfare the side that knows what its doing will win near 100% of the time. That being said the Cyantian’s advances in actual weaponry, equipment such as those glider packs and the ‘Mech, and their better engineering would level the playing field pretty well. I’m basing the engineering thing on that tiered tower in Centralis, or did the Rumah build that monster? I think it’d come down to whether the Cyantians deployed starships capable of orbital bombardment because nothing on Earth is built to attack space targets and right there they could annihilate Earth’s industrial facilities and grind us into the Stone Age.

        1. I doubt the Cyantian Wolves would perform an orbital attack against an enemy. They’d consider it “dishonorable and cowardly”. The Foxes may have less moral restraints in that regard.

          Anyways, yay for Zoi-erm-Heavy/Master Lifts!
