I managed to get two extra updates done so that there would be updates next week even with me spending this week tending to a sick husband and preparing for Furry Fiesta! As of this moment, 5:15 PM CST February 23rd, I've finished packing and will be filling the car soon to head down to the convention center for early setup. Tomorrow, I'll be there bright and early and likely broadcast my commission work while I'm there. I have a new Square Card Reader so I can accept credit cards (yes, I can take credit cards now and will add the option to the store soon so you don't even have to deal with paypal if you don't want to! Now, every year, there's a few people who drop by with treats for me. :) Please keep in mind that I'm diabetic, which means I should not have sugary/high carb things if I want to remain healthy. I will indeed eat every cookie you bring me, because I don't keep them here in the apartment! It won't kill me or anything, but I shouldn't do it. :D Points to anyone who brings me a package of salted calimari (It's located in the right back corner of Super H Mart in Carollton with the other disgusting plastic containered korean goodies. It's slimy tentacles in a bright red sauce.) That especially goes for my hubby if he wants to bring me anything. >:)

  1. And there’s a Nevix in this base. That probably means trouble for someone.

Also, it figures that he’d worry about food. He’s gotten used to actually, you know, having it when he’s hungry.

I wonder who the others here are, and where they came from, for that matter.

  2. What’s a Nevix and how is it trouble? And where did you find out what it is? I haven’t seen Nevix’s mentioned in any other of the comics on the menu on the top of the page.

As for your last question, their probably just other random people that Rama snatched along the way for a workforce. They could be anyone from isolated communities without much in the way of law enforcement or a way to contact one of the Major Powers for help.

    1. Nevix is the black and blue skunk, and he’s only been a cameo in Akaelae’s more recent “Cub’s Day” scenes. (As well as in a number of commissions.) He’s trouble because, well, he is trouble.

He’s the kind of guy who will prank Quinn repeatedly for fun and practice, so I have no doubt that he’ll get up to SOMETHING during the upcoming chaos.

I just have no idea what that “something” is. I actually asked Tiff to surprise me, so I have no idea what’s coming!

      1. Someone who can prank Quinn? Is that even physically possible?

        1. Well, Quinn did get caught offguard by the “Demon Horse” and ended up bonking her head in Akaelae, so I’d say that it IS possible to prank Quinn.

It probably just takes some planning. And some preparation. And a bit of luck.

And you have to be brave, as Quinn will probably prank you back if you succeed. Heck, she’s probably already pranked you a few times if you’re trying to prank her.

Also: Here’s the cameo list for this arc:

        2. “Heck, she’s probably already pranked you a few times if you’re trying to prank her.”
Well, that group includes about half of the population of Cyantia… 😉

        3. Thanks for the cameo list, Hariman! (Now if only I had known enough to get Ferric on it; but, at that time he did not yet even have a name! :-))

  3. Ha! I wondered if that was Nevix. 🙂 This’ll be fun.

Someone mentioned a cameos list page a while back… Can you point me to it so I can identify people as they come up?

  4. Has anyone noticed how young these servants look?

I’m starting to think that adults don’t last too long in Rama’s employ as servants.

    1. You’ll see on Friday… 😉

    2. Apparently some of them last just long enough to become dinner. 🙁

      1. It’s also possible that Rama doesn’t take many adults as servants or slaves. Adults are harder to control on both a mental and physical level, especially since wolf adults are typically bigger than foxes.

So, odds are, these children were either kidnapped while alone or their parents were killed. I suspect/hope the former, and I fear the latter.

  5. Some of these characters (in addition to Nevix) are distinctive enough to make me feel like they might be cameos but I can’t actually tell. The cameo list does not appear to be full so I’m thinking there may be some characters that never got updated onto the list..?

  6. Only Nevix is a cameo. 🙂 But the gold fox already has a following.

    1. Sounds like he’s going to be an interesting character! 🙂
