Probably you cannot phase through anything that is self aware, it’s a evolutionary defensive survival mechanism. Makes sense if you think about it, otherwise some really nasty macro-parasites (think lamprey or hagfish) would have develop that phase into a body and eat it from the inside out.

I think good sir demon horsey has an affinity for bonking Quinn on the head. Also, if he is a technofamiliar, then he’s got the ability to project force fields and other such things. He’s also at least semi sentient if he’s a familiar, so he’s smarter than he looks.
My2Cents: Actually, the Shivaewiki stated that Collin could phase through people. He just didn’t because it was rude.
I think she would need to focus in order to phase. So if she wasn’t paying attention and didn’t notice anything in front of her (as suggested by her speech bubble) then she probably wouldn’t phase through it anyway.
Gotta love Vin hiding behind Cilke’s tail. 😀 However I have to question his cunning plan — hiding behind a skunk’s tail in a situation where said skunk is very likely to get startled or frightened is probably a *bad* idea. After all, you don’t want to hide behind the muzzle of a cannon either.
And yet again our dear Cilke finds a new use for her tail. Or at least Vin does P).
As for Quinn, I believe the old phrase, watch where you are going just as applicable to those that can fly & phase through things. Just because you know where the hall goes doesn’t mean something can’t change.

It seems the girls have no idea why the boys are hiding behind them. Personally, I’d probably be hiding behind them more for the spontaneous hugging potential. *GLOMP*

Am I the only one who noticed that Cilke and Sheana haven’t seen the “Demon Horse” before, and are utterly confused as to why the boys are hiding behind them?
I’d noticed that as well. At first I wondered why they were confused, but thought it might have been because of the rapid retreat of the boys, then I remembered that they were back discussing going to sleep so that nothing could get pinned on them. I see how well that worked out. Hee hee hee…
I’m sure that would add to the confusion, too. 😀 Perhaps they’re confused about Quinn going thud, too. There is, after all, plenty of potentially confusing activity going on. Quinn ran into something, the boys are hiding behind the girls, and there’s a very unusual horse standing before them.
I’m curious as to how Quinn will react. I was kind of expecting a frightened reaction of some sort, but I’m not really sure that that’s the sort of thing Quinn would do. After all, does quinn really know fear? 😀
