The flames, like a lot of my more detailed brushes, came from here: http://www.brushes.obsidiandawn.com/ It’s a very, very good site and I keep forgetting to link to it, but I did not create those. I did, however, manipulate them and add some other effects to make them stand out so nicely. And I finally figured out how to make my brushes dance.
The shading was actually an accident that I kept because it looked so nifty and … pearly. I may need to go study some horses’ undersides though… I noticeably did not finish his anatomy due to simply not recalling what an uncut horse looks like. 😀

How one would exist on Cyantia, I’ve no idea. Currently I’m leaning on the idea of this being an elaborate joke by the Mountie royalty to scare the wolf pups with. XD
There *are* a lot of nasties running about in the wilds between the Fox and Mountie lands — it seems that generations of nasty genetic experiments have either been dumped there (in the grand old tradition of mad scientists everywhere) or escaped to there. However, I have a difficult time imagining the “demon horse” being one of them. And thru all of this – where is Quinn? Was the water fight just a cover for Quinn to disappear to throw her help into creating this little adventure? (She would *love* helping set up a prank like this! As would the princesses.)
Nightmares remind me of the chronicles of Xanth by Piers Anthony, a favorite series of mine, though its been years since I read them and I can’t remember the specific book that featured one.
As for this horse being similar to Rapidash, besides the mentioned difference in color, it also lacks a horn.

The “Mares” originate from Skandinavian mythology. They would come in the night and steal the souls from sleeping men, hence the modern phraseology: “Night Mares.”
I call Mecha, or some form of robotic/motorized flame tank. Or it could be a cub adventure, depending upon whether they get invited along for the fun.
I asked my older sister to take a look at yon horsie. I had to boot her out of my room because she was being too critical. Although, I can pass the criticism along if you’d like, Tiff.
Actually, recreating myths might be very profitable for Genoworks Exotica. I can see a rich mercenary or lord or a number of other people wanting to ride around on something out of people’s fairy tales/nightmares. Not to mention that a real nightmare would make a scorched earth policy and attacks on farmland much much easier. You just need fireproofing and to treat said burning very well.
Quinn’s whereabouts are a mystery. But I’m betting that she’s getting in trouble with the princesses. They’re probably threatening Sar with a makeover right now. Or worse
The cubs’ expressions say, “And you’re hunting this thing? WHY?” to me. Of course, it’s a fire hazard, so they kinda have to capture it. Personally, I’d like to meet the farrier brave enough to try putting shoes on that stud. 😉

Don’t worry Hanna-san. I’m a poke-fan too, in fact I recently beat the E4 on my Diamond game! But this fellow brings to mind the creation of Kayasuri-n of fanfiction.net, the charna. The only difference is charna have a horn above each eye that curls around and down to their cheeks. So where Rapidash is a unicorn, charna are more like Pony Island Valkyries. But meaner looking… This guy could be a Xanth refugee though!
For some reason, my browser hasn’t been able to load the past dozen strips or so. Are things down for maintenance? I was able to access Sink or Swim just fine.
