I agree that Quinn is really flippant. If she’s so smart, wouldn’t she know that showing a lack of respect toward an adult will likely tick them off? I might be the only one, but it would be good to see someone set her straight at least once.
And Quinn is probably the only one who could have a weapon pointed at her and not get even slightly more serious. Let alone the fact that she casually said that they’re looking for the demon horse. And Isis is so adorable in that that caption. Like someone who’s ecstatic to make a new friend
Tiggertoo: The accusation of hypocrisy only holds up if Chythar isn’t supposed to be out there. If he’s not a guard and happens is just out with his kid siblings, he’s a hypocrite. If he IS a guard, then he’s not a hypocrite and I’m wrong.
Considering Isis’ statement that they’re looking for the Demon Horse, I’ve got the feeling that Chythar, Isis and Kusak might by on their own sneaking mission. Also, I’m taking into account that Tiff wrote her comments on what cubs would be armed with on Cyantia. Tiff’s comments give me the impression that Chythar is still a teenager, or at least only barely an adult.
Whether or Chythar is or isn’t a hypocrite right now doesn’t change that Quinn IS one, which Chythar points out in today’s comic.
I sort of see the guard’s perspective on this: “Hello, I’m trying to protect people from the potentially dangerous demon horse and YOU’RE GOING LOOKING FOR IT???”
Honestly, kids these days… It’s sort of like people who stop and get out of their cars to take pictures of bears only 20 feet away, or tornadoes, or any other kind of clear and present danger.
Or stormchasers deliberately trying to get as close to or ahead of tornadoes to study them or to make a profit. (Collected hail can be sold to a project that studies hail, videos make good news/sensational reality show fodder.) There’s even one team that’s built a special armored truck to drive it through a tornado!
It’s possible that Quinn IS that utterly carefree. She might also be hiding any reaction to the sword being brandished in her direction.
