Hrmm… Just thought about something: If Silver DOES know what’s going on with the water creature, then it might just serve to highlight the marked difference between the “common” Cyantian-on-the-street and the main characters, especially what they’re used to and experience, which those not in their position would find unusual, scary, or outright incredible.
