First mistake, treating his legitimate complaints about how they’ve handled the issue as a tantrum so that they can ignore his feelings and not have to consider that just maybe they aren’t perfect and that they’ve gone about things the wrong way. Second mistake, letting things drag on instead of addressing his complaints like understanding adults instead of like tyrants.
