I am OPEN for badge commissions and putting other commissions on a waitlist to be contacted when I'm ready to work on them! You pay when I get to you. :) Not before. Ok, I have until June 30th to decide on whether I'm going to have to go to doing more commissions than comic art, but updates will continue as they have been next week!

  1. Yep!

Definitely sounding like the ones responsible for creating all the races not quite native on this planet.

Though it looks like the problem was looking so abysmal to the previous monitor, that they decided to just put everyone in continuous storage and wait until they’re servants could find a solution on their own. Something tells me that didn’t go to well.

  2. What’s still weird though is that Cyantians pretty much forgot about the Rumuah over a thousand years ago, but Ada implies there was always one active as recently as two hundred years ago. Unless she’s counting time differently. Granted, there are a lot of things people don’t know about.

  3. “Centuries” is vague enough that it could be almost a thousand years ago. And considering that Rama and Syrys were born not too long after the Moulin Phedra were driven off, it might have been almost a thousand years ago.

And I’m not sure how good of a pair of “servants” Darius and Quinn will make. 😉

    1. Not good servants at all. Somehow, I don’t see Darius especially taking orders from a weird-looking bald girl with freakishly huge eyes.

      Also, I wasn’t aware that ~630 constituted almost a thousand. That’s a 37% deficit.

      1. Ok, so it’s a wide margin of “almost”, but it’s still a long time ago and the prior caretaker likely saved at least 50 to 100 lives. Maybe more depending on how long the children last before they hit adulthood.

That’s nothing to sneeze at when your race is dying off.

  4. You misspelled “Time”; The “n”should be an “m”.

Please fix this and the others I pointed out recently.

  5. Of COURSE. It’s the classic “Mankind was just a tool invented to serve a different species” plot device. How did I NOT see that coming after the last few comics?

    1. I’ll have to say no. They were used because they were there, just like the other creatures.

    2. Actually, this plot device was made pretty clear at the beginning of Akaelae.

      1. Yeah it was, but it was brought up aaages ago, so if people haven’t been following the entire story they would miss it.
It seemed odd to me that it was odd for them to be unable to fix the illness themselves rather than wait for the Cyantians to uplift, considering their tech. But then it ocurred to me that the one luxury they probably didn’t have was the time to do it.

    3. It was explicitly stated at the beginning that the Immigrant Cyantians were created by the Rumuah as servants and heirs to their dying civilization. It’s common knowledge on Cyantzium but most think that humans were created by the same race as they don’t know about earth (the Akaelaes know better) and there’s only about a thousand homo sapiens sapiens on their planet.

  6. I’d think Darius would be looking a little grey by now as the mud dried. I keep expecting him to leave a trail of dust, be constantly scratching and go *poof* in a cloud of dust every time he sneezes. Maybe he’s saving the big sneeze up for when he has to do a ninja vanishing trick.

    1. Unless, of course, the mud he used is of a particularly staining variety.
Still, the idea of Darius trailing dripped mud and dropped dust is a rather attractive one.

      1. Ada will be upset! 🙂

    2. he does look remarkably well kept for a.. ‘dog that just finished rolling in the mud.’ (Visions of our own Australian Shepherd rolling in the empty pond come to mind.. ewwww and MAN do they stink!!)

  7. This is exactly where Darius, who knows exactly what the Rumuah are, Realizes what his new friend is. As well as the implications.
