How did he get so off course anyway? Was he even with them when the Shivae attacked, or did his horse bolt the way Vin’s did? And because Darius was sleeping, he couldn’t rein him in. Kudos on the artwork.
A few pages ago (weeks in terms of updates) a wisp (winged snake) flew onto the path while Darius had let his horse fall behind while he was dozing. That wisp made the horse shy away and angle off into the forest on the left side of the path.
I think Darius inadvertently gained the tactical advantage…now all he needs to do is reacquire his friends, and as soon as that happens, he’s going to be well up to speed.
