Little note, typing this on 2/21 at 7:40 PM - I got a severe sinus infection that started last Friday. It's taken its toll and is now SITTING IN MY EYES. Luckily I already had a doctor's appointment scheduled this morning and got antibiotics to get rid of it, but right now my eyes ache and are watering like crazy and I need to get away from screens... tomorrow morning I will show off another of the pieces for Furry Fiesta. Unfortunately I only got halfway done with comics before this hit. :(

  1. Now all Darius has to do turn around and walk away from the friends and family he knows and loves so that he can go get help.

Oh how the child pays for the sins of his ancestors. It’s time for Darius to do a little growing up.

  2. Wait, why haven’t the “guides” realized they’re missing two people? Vinc I could understand, he’s in the plan; but just how oblivious do you need to be to overlook a six-foot-tall “runty” white wolf?

    1. Filaire can’t count?? 🙂

  3. Now Darius gets to do the Solid Snake thing…

    1. I’m afraid I don’t see how Darius can play Solid Snake here. I see a bush, but now cardboard boxes…

And poor guy. Following the kidnappers is the wrong thing, because then no one will know they need help. Yet, arguably, leaving to get help is the wrong thing because it will (presumably) take some time to get to a friendly place to call for help, in which time the kidnappers and victims disappear…

      1. This trip was supposed to be several weeks of survival training courtesy of the Council. So a day’s ride to get the warning out is far more efficient than waiting for Syrys and the others to realize something is wrong.

There’s also the possibility that Rama and Filaire are prepared to remove tracking devices like Celina’s. So, time is of the essence. Even with Quinn’s warning.

  4. Darius gets to play hero?

  5. Humm Only two real threats right now and one is out cold due to a rock related injury. If he jumps her I bet he get that staff way and the rest will fall fold like a bad hand in poker.

  6. oooooh, that would suck if it were me!

  7. Really nice eyes in the second panel!

  8. I’m not sure of the capabilities of a fox powered armor here, but she may be stronger and faster than Darius while in it. On the other hand, I recall that Darius is a much better fighter than most others expect him to be.

    1. If I remember properly from several discussions about it, light lifts, the Cyantian equivalent of light powered armor, usually isn’t very augmenting. Commonly it’s a defense field / force field bolstering medium to heavy armor, and sometimes though not always a way of negating the mass/inertia of it to allow for full mobility. It’s less a powered armor by classic sci-fi standards than an enhanced personal body armor. From the design shown, if it wasn’t for the force field, Ithere’s enough soft areas that even if the fabric is penetration-resistant, it’s open enough for blunt-force trauma to be highly effective, since the soft areas are at the joints.

    2. A genetic elite like Darius should have no problem over-powering a fox in light powered armored. Not to mention all of the genetic elites have received advanced combat training, including hand-to-hand. receuved

  9. I think Darius has two choices here:

    1) Call for reinforcements(Syrys)

    2) SNEAK ATTACK!

Number 1 would be preferable if Darius had a mobile phone but if the nearest phone is far away, then number 2 would be a reasonable course of action since Syrys might not be able to do anything by the time that Darius calls.

  10. Sometimes, Darius looks like Edward Elric from FMA.

    1. I’ve been getting that from him on occasion.

  11. Time for Darius to get naked…after all, it worked for Syrys.
