  1. I wonder who those two wolves with Rama are

    1. Mooks. Thugs. Lugwrenches. Quinn fun toys.

    2. All muscle; no brains. Just the kind of followers Rama likes.

    3. I think they’re Rama’s other sons.

The sons that Rama had “adjusted” to make them more manageable.

Vin, Melody and Kerie should be running. They should be running very fast.

      1. Playing hide and seek with Rama takes all the fun out of hide and seek.

      2. Does Rama even have other sons? I thought Vin was his only son.

        1. Yes, many http://cyantian.net/akaelae/2005/07/13/07132005/
(with big thanks to Daemonschile for keeping the Wiki so well-populated).
Other than this reference, the page also mentions in detail that he had three more sons and a daughter, but there’s no reference link for it.

        2. That only mentions that many illegetimated Cubs were sired.

I remember Rama talking about a number of daughters.

I allways thought that Vincent was his only son.

      3. If so, then the reason they’re so big would be that they’re not elites like Vin?

        1. Rama’s a few hundred years old.
He had kids at various times, the two may be easily twice Vin’s age, I guess.

        2. Or they might be older then Vin.

Though elites tend to be smaller then wolfs that are not, Vin still isn’t fully grown yet.

        3. Correct. Rama wanted Vin as his heir because Vin IS an elite, while his other sons missed out on those special genes.

I THINK this was mentioned in Akaelae, but it could also have been in the wiki.

    4. Bad and News.

  2. Vin (to himself): …crap…

  3. Brownie on the left is the “smarty” who hopes to be Rama’s sucessor (which of course is stupid of him, but he believe’s he’s clever enough), and is feeling contempt towards the kids for being so easy to catch.

Whitey on the right (Speaking of… is he from the third bloodline of white wolves that Ada mentioned?) is just waiting till he can smash them all into ground and get back to working out and dragging women by their tails.

This page also gives a good way to see clearly how different Rama’s face compared to other wolves, due to his Mounty heritage.

  4. How fast can Vin think on his feet? Talk, run, fight, anything as long as

    1) Everybody stays out of the claws of Rama and his bully-boys.

    2) Time gets wasted more or less in one spot.

Even though Vin has no clue there’s a major Akealae rescue operation inbound, it could occur to him that Rama is fleeing something he can’t deal with and there aren’t many choices on that list. Whatever the reason it means Rama can’t hang out and play tiddley-winks with Vin and the girls too long or whatever he’s running from is going to tap him on the shoulder and clock him a good one. He may make a quick grab or two but he really must be going. All Vin has to do is play for time until Rama has to leave.

There are far worse moves than running straight back toward camp, even if Vin has no idea why Rama is running from it.

The girls are Rama’s dinner tonight and ought to know it. They should be ready to bolt the moment the shock of seeing him wears off.

  5. Well this can’t be good.
