I must admit I never read very far into Akaelae. The long (albeit necessary) exposition bored me. This, however, is different. This is inviting to read. Good work!
I look at the city pillars and my first thought is “It’s an engineering nightmare!”. Shortly after, I took the time to evaluate the state of Cyantian technology. Such a structure strongly implies mass use of (at all levels of architecture) the Cyantian antigravity metal. It would have to be present and in use in truly massive quantity to offset the mass of the city, AND the mass of the supporting structure, which elsewise would end up likely collapsing under its’ own weight. My main thought is the matter of sway: several degrees in any given direction at any given time due to wind pressure.
I have to wonder if the supporting structure is mostly hollow (which to me seems a necessity) or whether it is mostly solid. It’s one of those odd and interesting questions I would have to ask.
As to the matter of the smaller, forest/park-placed home: THAT looks reasonable and even quite do-able from an architectural standpoint, even with modern technology. I have to say I like the design. While a dome is space-inefficient, it IS thermally and conservationally efficient, something which feels appropriate to these folk.
I pity the punishment assignment of cleaning that exterior clear dome, though. Truly a herculean task to wash it clean, what with that much space. Either you need several people, a good sprinkler system / hose system, or a lot of time to clear up the streaking. ^_^ Wow, THERE’s a frightening “I’m gonna ground you!” threat: “I’ll make you wash the house dome!”. I’d run in fear tail between my legs!
There’s also the possibility of the Cyantians having stronger, more durable materials in the first place. That would make the need for Cyantium metal alloys and other such reinforcement methods.
I also agree with Mika that Tiff hasn’t really been writing a “fantasy” comic, she’s actually listed it under “real life” on Webcomic Planet.
The catgirl rule applies more to swords and sorcery comics and
over the top hero comics.
I do happen to recall scifi drama comedy romance action (and a few others that I can’t remember) once applied to this, all in one sentence.
Still, the world of The Cyantian Chronicles is a little more realistic than some fantasy worlds. I think that the only place that physics go square is around Quinn and the other Siracs anyway.

Sometimes mayhap, but elsewise, with some few exceptions, Tiff’s been decent, straddling a line on a fair few things, and I enjoy that. ^_^
As to the catgirls, well, I don’t think of them. I’m a vixen, and vixens don’t always get along with kittygirls. I try, but, welllll… ^_^
