In all the excitement and uproar on Tuesday - the tornado warning and hiding out for an hour, wasting several hours on being afraid there was going to BE a warning on top of that... I FORGOT TO UPLOAD the rest of the week's comics. :P Feel free to prod me and ask, since they were all DONE, if I do that again. I do get so busy I forget to upload comics. :( I've uploaded all of this week's comics, M-F updates!!
These comics and the one prior to it were all painted in Adobe Photoshop CS6 - which is sooo awesome. I have it for 54 more days, so I better finish out Darius quickly since I can't afford the upgrade and doubt it will be out by then anyway Haven't checked, but upgrading is $700 for the package I want, that includes Acrobat, Illustrator AND Photoshop.. although I don't know if I'll qualify for that with 6, but the minimum is just Photoshop CS6 for $199-$350 - depending on the version. I'll likely end up with the base minimum just so I can keep being happy with the beautiful output. It's funny how different the art looks done with pretty much the SAME brushes and style. 0.o
When Darius is done, I will be switching to mostly black and white - Campus Safari and maybe another - maybe Sink or Swim, likely Genoworks Saga - possibly more. Depends on if I can get myself back into gear. I also will be finishing up and updating the Shivae Drop-a-thon and War that's been scripted... but not finished in the inking department. It will be done. Must do it so I can focus on some other things. :D Like... more stuff updating again.

While I can appreciate how pissed off she is(having been nearly blown up and all), she has worked for Rama for years, if not decades; and she has to know how outmatched she’d be in a fight with him…

She’s still a technomage, and she’s NOT a slouch in the fighting department either. She was a Royal Guard for the Vulpine Empire after all.

Doesn’t look like she was planning on facing him anytime soon, or she’d have kept her armor.

I would suggest – rather – that going armorless is an acknowledgment that she’s going into a fight she knows she can’t win, but is determined to die honorably, and do everything she can to repay her debts to those she’s hurt in the past at Rama’s bidding.

She might want to move faster than wearing armor will let her move.
Plus, the armor is distinctive and obvious, so leaving it behind might make her less of a target.

I’ve noticed that a LOT of Cyantians have long hair, regardless of their race or social class. Even soldiers have it despite the fact that long hair is supposed to be a detriment on the battlefield. So is long hair a cultural thing on Cyantzium? If so, is there any reason why?

As far as I know, long hair was a symbol of freedom from the Squid occupation. Because of its importance, the Cyantians used hair-cutting as a form of punishment (like Oran did with Vin). In the current storyline, it’s not as much as important as in the past, but still many Cyantians keep long hair.

If I recall from the wiki correctly, and comments made on the forums, etc., that was true specifically of Wolf culture. I’m uncertain if it’s true for the foxes. As to Filaire cutting her hair, I think in this case it’s purely a case of removing what she sees as a symbol of her vanity.
Side note: Gods I find Filaire to be pretty!

I imagine that long hair might be a significance of rank? I know that in a lot of animes, the heros either have REALLY spiky hair, or long hair (InuYasha is a prime example). It could be a throw back from their Feudal Era? I know Vin was extremley upset when he realized that Orrin had cut his hair; more so, it seemed, than he was about the beating the RedEye gave him. *shrug* Just my conjectures for FrozenShade’s question.

I know what you mean about PS, Tiff. I recently got a computer that could actually handle 600dpi pages and had to upgrade to CS5 because CS2 wouldn’t run on the new machine, and WOW, my comics look so much better!

Tiff means the current chapters/arc. There’s more of Akaelae/Darius, but it’s going to come a little later.

If I must explain : Filaire is preparing for the very likely chance of capture by changing her appearance AND scent, by removing her armor which was heavily scented to block her normal scent – common among Fox.

I’m still curious about Vin’s thunderstorm…
-How will it affect the evacuation and/or battle?
-Considering how quickly it came up; will Syrys realize it’s significance and how will it affect his choices?
-If Syrys does realize the storm is due to Vincent’s emotions; will he assume -that’s- due to a threat (or worse!) to the cubs?
