I've reached the point where advertising is no longer covering my bills. (I am working on a third of what I was making before and have been since January. Taxes are putting a serious crimp in my finances starting this month.) It's picking up, but too slowly at this point. Luckily, I had already planned on stopping Akaelae for a short period of time and updating Genoworks Saga in its place while I script out the next chapters. I'm going to list the cameos that I have recorded to make absolutely sure I have them all filed, I SHOULD have them all, for the next arc. I'll also be working on the books. And if ANYONE out there can help me with setting up a subscription based site so I can offer ad free browsing, please speak up. It just has to be something that makes use of paypal and doesn't depend on me entering and keeping up with everything beyond updating. While I've had offers, they all come with demands for money that I don't have. I am also working on an entry for Zuda, which if I can win, will involve being paid enough to make up for the losses.

  1. Is the horse happy?

    Happy horse is happy…

    Yes?

  2. Looks happy to me!

  3. KHGV Defenestration

It looks alert/focused, atleast. Happy might be pushing it, given the fennec is being carried by the Axe Bunny that oh-so-recently tried to bifurcate it.

  4. indeed it does… I think? I can’t really see its eyes so…. maybe?

  5. Does it HAVE eyes?

  6. The horse is still angry, but how sweet the big grey bunny without the axe 😀

  7. Ears forward, perking up to look somewhere? I’d say that horse is happy to see the fennec.

  8. Didn’t we have a group of adults out looking for this horse? Its tracks have lead to this spot where we have had shouting, energy blasts, ax thwacking, and major excavation going on. How long does it take these guys to pick up on the clues and show up?

  9. @OBJuan: this whole scene since the horse showed up until now has probably taken about 20 minutes, give or take a few. I’m sure the King and company will show up before long (unless Tiff is throwing us a huge red herring, and they’re not tracking this “demon” horse at all, but another similar but much nastier one). They’re also in rough, mountainous, forested terrain — seeing, hearing, and traveling are all rather curtailed unless you’re very close by.

  10. Yay, happy horse =) Akaelae’s pausing? Not cool, but I totally understand about the funds >.> Wish I could donate, but I am 15 and currently don’t have a job I make money on…

  11. A picture is worth a thousand words

  12. Beautiful work! I wish my horses had manes like that!

  13. I wish I could draw like that or like any of her other work!

  14. I see, we are all getting hit pretty hard by taxes and the economic crunch. I wish I had money to purchase comics and donate to your site but I simply don’t have the money. I’m barely financially stable as is.

    Looking forward to more genoworks.

  15. The horse seems to have calmed down somewhat.

  16. I am actually getting a big Federal refund (thanks to getting laid off last year) so I will see what I can do when it comes in. Were you able to check out how Wirepop does their site?

  17. The fennec looks cute. :3 Though maybe I have a soft spot for them.

Bummer about the funds, there. I know the feeling. I had to move out of my house and back in with my parents for similar reasons. 🙁

On another note, the Cyantian Chronicles forum could provide a way for some of you to spend/waste your time. XD There’s even an RPG.

  18. Horsie is suddenly much more cheerful. Things seem to be going quite well now.
Seems that if the Cavalry rides in right now, they’ll likely feel like fifth wheels.

  19. I’ve always had trouble figuring out how to really get involved with that rpg, I’ve been itching to role play for years, cause I haven’t gotten my fix in a while, but I dunno.

  20. Man, I love RPGs (D&D FTW) but it seems like it would be kind of awkward just to join in. It’d be like creating a character halfway through a campaign. “Oh yeah, this guy is sort of just here and is now part of the party.” I feel like I’d need some sort of connection. Considering I don’t know anyone to bounce conversation off of I feel like I’d be talking at empty space with people whom I don’t know or care about. Ah well, I guess that’s one of the benefits of table top you see (and hopefully know) whose playing.

  21. KHGV Defenestration

What time I have for RPing is already allocated to nationstates, alas.

It’s still tempting, but I’d miss the creative freedom.

  22. Black Hat: Part of the fun of the MARPG IS adding a new character into the mix and seeing where he fits. You develop the connections during/after entry into the RP. Plus, the MARPG is ongoing, free form and social, instead of “campaign” based.

Don’t be afraid to make a character and trying him (or her) out in the Spaceport.

  23. I hope we get to see a lot more of that little fennec.

  24. Hmmmmm…could you post a link? Oh, and what are the requirements of this RP. If I intend to make a character I should probably play by the established rules

On the topic of D&D: I like D&D and that RPG style for a couple of reasons. One is the exploration factor. If the DM is good enough (I enjoy creating vast worlds meant to be explored in D&D, even if never DM) he or she will create a world in which one can explore. I also like the problem solving that DMs present. The DM gives a player a problem and the players solve it using any means necessary. Also as KHGV Defenestration I enjoy the freedom many D&D worlds can present. The do whatever whenever mentality can be fun, however having that prodding objective can be nice too. The problem I see with this RP and me is that it provides no clear object as to what to do… Maybe I’m just misinformed.

  25. Someone did post a link. It’s a purely social role play, which is one reason I have never tried getting into it, because there doesn’t seem to be any chance for conflict and stories, just endless schoolyard shenanigans.

The only good forum RP I’ve ever participated in was a weird Ecco the Dolphin RP that had a strange mishmash of characters, some of which were enemies, others not so much. It was fun working in pms with whoever is being interacted with at the time on each part of the game before posting it.

  26. You mentioned that you need another site to host your comics? Send me an email, I love you comics and would happily host them free of charge. Of course, that’s just space >.< But I will help set up a website as well if you like.
