I love the expressions we see here. They really run the whole gamut from depressed to regret and to fuming. The expressions are just wonderfully, well, expressive. Tira’s fuming/angry face is my favorite.
And you’re right. You can’t get Quinn down. Especially since she’s helping people right now.
Could use a few more dishes, I think. With the amount shown I might be put out if I cleaned them on my own, but with a few friends it might not even be a chore. We only really see one stack of dishes in each panel, and in a comic format it’s not to much of a stretch for it to be the same stack in all the panels.
For Quinn, it’s more of a state of being. She does pick up on others emotions and surface thoughts and the best way to combat it IS to be happy and think about all the good things she can be happy about and there are many. Otherwise, she’d probably have a lot of mental issues. 😉
Evil thought; if some one, by happen chance, spilled something say like soap on the floor that Quinn just so happened to slip with a load of dishes. Next question; would Quinn get blamed or would an adult see the soap and figure others to blame?
If Quinn could be any more out of sync with the general mood, she would be floating across the room using her abilities. Hard to slip when you are hovering around.
Wolfgang: Keep in mind, this is after a full hour of doing dishes. That might be the last of the dishes. That also might only be the current stack.
MephitMark: Quinn might pick up on the satisfaction of the prankster who caused her to fall. She could either tell on that person, or promise some unnamed prank to return the favor.
Quinn wouldn’t even have to do anything. She could just drop hints now and again for the next month or two. Although I doubt she’s that mean spirited. She’d probably just pull a prank a week or two later. She’d probably pull something utterly humiliating too.
I think all the panels are going on at the same time… especially since we’re talking about a political hive-ish center-place-thing. Like, there’s a crapload going on, and even more actual people.
@Geek: That’s because Quinn is the only one who doesn’t have her softly furred arms elbow-deep in nasty food-laden, likely greasy dishwater.
@GMWolf: I dunno, but Tira and Silver look like they MAY very well be contemplating opening havoc up on Quinn, and are likely equally if not more annoyed that they know full-well they can’t succeed… That’d have my tail in knots, yes it would!
Well, it looked to me like Quinn was putting away the already dried dishes, so there’d be no need to wear gloves to protect her fur. And to me, it almost looks like she’s up to something, judging by her expression. It looks to me like the first four are washing, the next three are drying, and Quinn’s putting them away.
By the way, don’t forget the monstrous amount of dishes in the water, as evidenced by the first panel.
And aye, gloves + fur -> uncomfortable and pulled fur. I know from experience. They hurt to take off, sometimes. “Let go!” XD
As for doing dishes for an hour, I think it’d be more monotinous than anything, same as any really repeatitive task – you just need a good autopilot while you think about other things.
I wonder if there are plastic caps or something in the ends of the gloves’ fingertips to protect them from claws?
You know whats the worst, when you get water in your dish gloves. Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. I hope they are fortunate enough to avoid that.
@ KJ Fellie: I see a rat head… or somehthing like one 😛

Darrik looks like he’s lost in though about those dishes… doesn’t seem to mind it at all and considering his background, it makes sense… [“is that a speck of dirt?”]
or he could be thinking about something else entirely, like: “how did I do that thing with the energy???”

Quinn + a stack of dishes = CRASH!!!
Geek
If Quinn does anything silly at this point, the others are going to be really…angry at her.
Heh heh, like Darrik’s expression.
Omniscia
Service with a smile. ^_^
Now if Quinn were to start singing a Happy Little Working Song…
Tom Redlion
Darrik and Vin are prolly the only ones accustomed to this. Darrik looks absolutely disgusted with those plates.
Then there’s Quinn….

Brix is all “What did I do? Besides being an accessory accomplice, I mean.”

Ah, Quinn is empathic then. And a bit of a psychic huh? heh
Stripey
Wow, that is a huge sink. It looks big enough to be used as a bath tub by any of the kids there.
Marcwolf
What do you get when you wash that number of dishes. Soup!!!! from the dishwater (Warning – never accept soup at my place)

Yep doing dishes sucks.
They are going to be busy with that for a while.
Love everyone’s expressions 🙂
Hopefully the cooks won’t be too hard on them
xenomorph22
I hate dishes
Stray
now if only we could harness Quinn’s happiness as energy…. We’d have an endless supply!
Vin doesn’t look to upset actually! He looks like he’s concentrating on working more than he is the reason he’s having to do this.

Aaand… Quinn is still happy… that’s insane lol
fancy pants
Silly cubs, just use QUinn’s laser vision to clean the plates…she does have laser vision, right?
xenomorph22
No, she doesn’t. That is Cyclops from X-Men, and Superman
Gmwolf
There is no “kill Quinn” face anywhere ¿? 😀

Those gloves must be annoying as hell to wear…

…Methinks they should hold her down and tickle her until she cries… Though that may be had to do to someone who can teleport and walk through walls.
Though they could treat her to some Digni cuisine, and not tell her what it was until she’s halfway done. “How do you like your bugs?”
KHGV Defenestration
Sheana, always cute. 🙂

Perhaps. I don’t think it would really be necessary, especially if the gloves are made of a tough material.
On another note, I thought I’d gotten myself an avatar, but it doesn’t appear to be showing up. 🙁 Oh, well. Maybe it takes more time.
