  1. Careful now, We don’t want Darrik stealing the spotlight, now, do we?

  2. Heh. Now for some reason I want to turn this into a parody of the Firefly pilot’s dinosaur story. “And we called the swamp, Our Swamp…”

  3. Did Darrik always have only three fingers?

  4. Yes. All cyantian foxes only have 3 fingers.

    I do recall that Syrys and Alpha wanted to find Darrik’s family, so there might be a trip home for him sooner rather than later. Of course, he’d also be helping search for Silver and Safiri.

  5. Is Darrik quoting something? His speech is in quotes in the last panel and I don’t think I’ve seen that before.

  6. I think the quotes may denote that he’s speaking English. but I’m not sure about that.

  7. Hmm… No, I’m pretty sure that if he switched languages, his speech would be in That’s how it’s usually done in comics, and I know I’ve seen Tiff use them that way. Of course, she may have switched methods since then… Still, I think they’re probably still speaking Cyantian. If Darrik was speaking English, I think he’d say his words more lazily (like he does when he speaks English in Akaelae).

  8. I would imagine that it takes quite a bit of doing for any human to make it past their friends. Being a resident of Louisiana for most of my life, and having familiarity with Cajun culture, those folks take their friendships VERRA seriously, and you do not want to do anything to cross them else you find yourself “disappearing” in those swamps.

  9. 😀 Yes, he IS speaking English. I apparently forgot how I WAS denoting it before.

  10. Oh god, Darrik is so cute in the last panel. ^.^ Now that his fur is grown back he’s really fluffy. Makes me wanna hug him o.o

  11. Ah, I see you changed it now.

    I don’t remember Darrik’s drawl being that strong, but that might be because it’s been a while since I’ve read that part of Akaelae. o.o;

  12. Yes, that is Darrik’s absurdly heavy Louisiana accent coming thru in English. He almost reminds me of Jar Jar Binks sometimes.

  13. Is that what’s called Cajun English?

  14. It’s stronger when he talks than when he thinks in it. I wish I could find an actual Cajun translator – yes, I know it’s pretty much redneck with cajun slang. 😀

  15. When did he get a head full of hair?

  16. When I see Darrik talking like that I hear “Born on the bayou “
