Never have cared for this kind of thing. You run into legitimate trouble that causes you to be late and it’s dismissed to the degree that they don’t even bother to hear why you were late (I still remember a college professor being dismissive when I ran across him later in the day after I missed his class because of a car wreck) and say you’re just giving excuses because of course THEY have never been late for anything because the perfect people always get everywhere on time no matter what the situation.
