I noticed that there were only two question marks, and I think that must mean that Silver and Vin were holding out on the other two – they knew what was making the sound all along!

More than one is one possibility. It’s mane was also on fire when we saw it last. There’s also the possibility that the prior “Demon Horse” was what the cubs imagined, and not the real demon horse.
My personal guess is that it looks wildly different depending on whether or not it’s lit it’s hooves, mane and tail on fire.
I wonder if the demon horse makes that sound by running, or by vocalization, or if that’s something else entirely.
