Hmmm, I guess the AMIB has figured some top-secret highly technological way of detecting grav engines from long distance, probably with some recovered alien tech. I did earlier do a piece about how Cyantian space warships could evade detection but this comic just throws all that down the drain since Terrans have figured out how to detect grav engines in-universe.

Oh *snerk*. The locator chips were compromised. I’ve always thought about the privacy violating nature of those things but haven’t really thought of the security concerns even though that’s my main area of expertise. I’m thinking that either the Rebels did that during the Centralis-Teraplex war or the AMIB did so later on as hostilities started heating up.

I suppose in all reality when you think about all the things that have happened to these cubs, privacy with safety is a poor mans fantasy.
When you have kidnapping alien races in orbit, cannibal war mongering relatives in the shadows and an unsympathetic government holding you back, it’s best to take precautions.
Of course as always, there will be those who can get around such precautions over time.

… and I just realized that Tiff had to take the locator chips out of the picture in order to keep in line with the original story and add dramatic tension.

It’s the what goes unsaid about Quinn’s plan that would concern me. Oh, who am I kidding. I’m probably fully going to enjoy the chaos that Quinn will be bringing to earth.
