I swear, his lack of comprehension leads me to wonder if he’s in some way damaged… It’s making me sad, concerned, and worried for his mental well-being.
I think he’s been assuming that they’re just another couple of people from earth, without fully realizing that they are literal fuzzy aliens.
Realizing that her legs aren’t even seen on earth, even for others like him, and the people hunting him… it’s probably setting in that he’s NOT dealing with random ordinary people, and that there’s more going on that what he initially thought.
Also, I’ve had moments of getting caught in a loop of “WTF?!” at something, so him being fixated on her legs makes sense to me as Saige just being utterly confused at digitigrade legs actually being possible.
