Campus Safari Chapter 17 13

  1. Saige’s expression in the last panel is full of the stark “Oh my God… I could live WITHOUT constantly looking over my shoulder and fearing the next slip up… or having to run away from a home every couple of months.” realization.

    1. None of them seem to have anything tying them down to the Earth anyway, just the opposite really. While to be fair it COULD be a trap but there’s nothing to leave anyone to think they girls are anything but what they appear to be and Twinkie and Saige have the choice of the known which is a threat and the unknown that appears to be escape from the threat. Both look to be overcoming those fears of the unknown to take the risk of something better than things never changing from the fear that they know.

    2. Considering their current lifestyle of constantly moving and staying hidden, they’ve had no chance to form ties except to others like themselves who would also be constantly running, moving, and hiding. So, unless they have a bond with another were they should pretty much have nothing to hold them back from fleeing with the Cyantians.

      1. Speaking of bonds, Sage’s mother is one of the Cil trying to help and defend the children of Cil on Earth like Sage and Twinkie. I can imagine Sage might want to be there for her, but I don’t know the details of the situation. It might be better for both of them if he can leave.

        1. Particularly since he can always come back once he’s more confident and skilled and able to mature in a less hostile environment. He’d have their support at that point instead of having to go it alone like he’s pretty much had to do.

        2. I’ve missed something, or it’s been too long since I read the beginning of this. Where is this part about Sage’s mother is one of the “Cil”? Come to think of it, I don’t even remember the Cil! LOL

        3. Ah, maybe that was a spoiler, sorry. I read it recently, but it must have been in the old version. Also, ‘one of the Cil’ and ‘children of the Cil’ are oversimplifications.
