He is right, no matter who of them is the most skilled/dirty fighter, it’s a loose – loose situation for the (what’s his name again?), he just haven’t quite caught that, yet.
His comment fits the ‘Badass Boast’ trope, where someone’s declaring how powerful they are in some fashion in order to let their opponent know that they can do nothing but fail in fighting them. Darius is declaring that his opponent has no hope against him and should choose differently before it’s too late.
What is the possibility that the fox’s position would dramatically get better, if he were to surrender and seek asylum at the towers? He wouldn’t be a good prisoner, the foxes would just turn their backs on him in disgust, he couldn’t go back to them, they’d cast him out. He could make a good informant to the Akaelae’s on the Fox’s whereabouts and operations… but that would pretty much be betraying his entire family.. when only some of them treated you badly.
