I’m more surprised that the human is taking a walking talking anthropomorphic fox like it’s an everyday run-in. Most would, at minimum, be DEEPLY bewildered. This is flat-out ODD.
The obvious corollary, would be that it is not odd to him because he is “used” to the idea of anthropomorphic life forms. Specifically, “alien” anthropomorphic life forms. Jenny could be in a bit of trouble.

I’m inclined somewhat to believe that, or, equally, that he’s one of the REALLY weird sorts, the folk who wouldn’t bat an eye if Cthulu Himself came up and asked to borrow a cup of sugar. His casualness about accepting her, after the “dog” mistake, though, kind of points to him not making the alien anthro connection due to familiarity.
