The Wendigo can only be killed when one has wounded its ice cold heart with a silver blade or bullet, followed by shattering the frozen heart, locking the pieces in a box, and burying the box in a church cemetary. Or so folklore says. The beast is from American Indian legends, and I don’t believe they had a written language so any tales of the creature were passed down by word of mouth. Simply could have started out being tough to kill, and then evolved into a much more threatening creature that became harder and harder to kill.
The second panel makes it look as though there are two of them
“The mating dance of the Wild Wicker Beast is a rarely glimpsed phenomena. Not only is it highly dangerous for viewers to be so close to a pair of Wickers, the Beasts themselves tend to kill one another on sight, territories being highly contest feeding grounds. Up until now, no film of this highly complex ritual has ever been recove…what was that sound….”
*Found film attributed to renowned cryptozoologist Richard Blair, who is thought to have disappeared shortly after filming this encounter. His video camera was found in a remote field, but no sign of Blair was ever discovered.*
