I was wondering about the gold fox, I don’t think it’s been directly addressed how they “work” before, other than some are elite and some aren’t. No wonder Filaire has been able to survive this whole time! I imagine that charisma ability has helped about as often as her other powers.
Unfortunately you’re probably right. There seems to be a lot of racial strife between the various sub-species of foxes. One group tries to genocide the other group and when sheltered pockets crop back up they do the same in revenge. An endless cycle of hate, greed, lust for power and prejudice.

Probably what helped keep her alive around rama, given his penchant for murdering people and cannibalizing them.
