Looks like it’s only adult foxes they’re terrified of (not too surprising, given how the foxes in power were they probably had fox kits as part of their experimenting as well).
Fox is Fox, regardless of color. However, that might play a part in them to get past the whole Fox Distrust issue. But a bigger part might be that she’s a cub like them. Hence, not a Big Fox.

Yup, the bigger part is that she is a kit and not an adult. However, fur color would also help. Most of the fox they were around that mistreated them would have been red furred and blue, with a few orange and golds. They may have had experiences with black or silver fox while there that would have been different.
That’s a good question, since I didn’t give mine paw pads. I never liked the way they looked. The fur on the underside of their fingers is very fine and very short. I should probably color them in the future to make that evident that their fingers might also be hairless. I’d think it’s similar to us petting a pet. 😉
Just a silly thought…
Would we pet our fuzzy pets as much if they had -no- fur? Bet we’d drive the Cyantians crazy wanting to pet -them- all the time. 🙂

There ARE hairless dogs and cats that people adore. 😀

Yay! Bonding and learning not all fox are bad is facilitated by the fluff!

I wonder if it also has to do with the coat colour. There wouldn’t have been any silver foxes, so perhaps that doesn’t set off ‘danger’ bells.

I keep wondering what it feels like to a furred person when petting a pet. 🙂
