Filaire did not lie. Likely some of the family lived far enough away that the king was unaware of them, or they got word in time to escape farther. Filaiire’s immediate family, living in or near the capitol, probably did not escape. The ones who did likely assumed Filaire had died too, which would be a reasonable assumption considering her job.
