I imagine that the cries for help are merely a lure, like the dangling light of an angler fish. Wendigos hunt people. What language is it using when it cries “help”? Or is it a mental call that people hear as being in their primary language?

At least it seems to be somehow forbidden from entering structures, otherwise it wouldn’t be trying to lure her out of the barn. So it’s a vampire?
